Great news for Patients Campaigning For Cures!! A total of 73 Parliamentarians have now signed two EDMs, holding the continued public funding of laboratory animal models to thorough medical account.
Two additional new MPs have signed EDM 22: Chris Evans MP for Islwyn and Mark Hunter MP for Cheadle. EDM 22 is a life line to patients desperately in need of effective treatments and cures, who understand that the continued funding of experiments on laboratory animals is failing humans and that current science understands exactly why this is the case. This is especially important becuase the majority of research funds still go towards laboratory animal models.
EDM 22 calls for scientists from the animal experimentation community – who continue to promote such veterinary principles in human medical research – to agree to debate their position in a scientific hearing with conditions endorsed by Britain’s foremost human rights defence barrister Michael Mansfield QC.
